Katia Cytryn Silverman
Dr. Katia Cytryn-Silverman
Dr. Katia Cytryn-Silverman is a lecturer at the Institute of Archaeology and the Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is a specialist in the Islamic periods and has recently taken over directorship of the Tiberias excavations. She is also a co-director of the Khirbat al-Minya excavations, an eighth century caliphal palace ca. 14 km. north of Tiberias. In addition, she continues her research on road-archaeology, which was the topic of her doctoral thesis: The Mamluk Inns (Khans) in Southern Bilad al-Sham.
